Hello and welcome to my homepage!

My name is Fotis Loukos and I am a Ph.D. student at the Department of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. My supervisor is Professor Eleni Karatza. I hold a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master of Science in Computers, Telecommunications and Networks from the Department of Computer and Communications Engineering of the Polytechnic School of University of Thessaly.

My favorite O/S is Linux and my favorite distribution Debian. I started using Linux at the good old kernel 2.0 days. I used to download the Slackware disk sets with my 2400bps modem. I also use FreeBSD.

My favorite programming language is C but lately I use Java because of Swing and J2ME. Assembly is one of my biggest loves too! I don't program in assembly too ofter but whenever I get the chance I code in it. I know assembly for the x86 and the SPARC architectures and I have used some AVR and PIC assembly for my MSc thesis. I can also code in perl and shellscript.

After all these you may believe that I'm a unix geek. You can find my geek code here so you can find out if it's true!
